El Granada, CA
An eclectic garden for a charming beach community.
The client wanted a "funky" and fun garden to go with their 1920's house incorporating spaces that the whole family can enjoy.
The use of art Deco Italian tile from a salvage store for the outside shower mixed with the ruggedness of the railroad ties gives this garden its charm.
Prunedale, CA
The main request from this customer was outdoor living and entertaining with the formality of an English garden.
Originally from England, they wanted to take advantage of the great central coast weather.
The main challenge was to define boundaries for the garden so it could not get lost in the large sized property.
White trellises were created to provide the boundary effect.
Scotts Valley Mountains, CA
The client requested a mountain retreat with spaces for special family events and outdoor entertainment.
Due to the location of the property, deer-resistant plants were a priority.
Using old manzanita branches from the property, a stair handrail was created to soften the flagstone stairs and patios and give it the rugged and spontaneous mountain look.
